This wax carving and introduction to stone setting workshop in London is designed for those who already have a basic understanding of wax carving, and want to deepen their skills by setting brilliant-cut (round) gemstones into their pieces. You’ll learn how to create precise settings using tools like ball burs and drill bits, explore the differences between gemstone shapes, and prepare your piece for professional casting in metal of your choice. The course also introduces the “Cast-in-Place” technique, where stones are embedded in wax and cast together—a dynamic method used in contemporary jewellery design.
After casting, you’ll complete your piece by learning how to set your gemstone securely and finish it through polishing. The course takes place in a fully equipped jewellery studio in London and is limited to 4 students, allowing for close guidance and space to develop your skills.
